Carmeuse Ghana also known as Carmeuse Lime Products (Gh) Ltd. was established in 1993 in the port city of Takoradi, Ghana. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Carmeuse S.A of Belgium and part of the overall Carmeuse group, which is the leading lime producer in the world. 

 

Carmeuse Ghana is specialized in the production and sale of high grade Quicklime and Hydrated lime in West Africa. With the present production capacity of 100,000 metric tonnes per annum, the company is able to supply to the major mining companies in Ghana, Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso.

 

As a versatile chemical, lime has several applications. It is used in the steel industry, mining industry for ore processing, road construction and asphalting, paper industry, agro-food industry, water treatment, chemical industry etc. 

 

To ensure best operational practices as well as strengthening the company's competitive position in West Africa, Quality and Environmental Management Sysytems were put in place and resulted in the company being accredited with ISO 9001 and 14001.
